Indian Hills Middle School
1180 East Sanders Road, Sandy
Groundbreaking: April 13, 2017
Opening Celebration: Aug. 20, 2018

The completion of a major remodel of Indian Hills Middle School marked the 13th and final project promised to the public in 2010 when voters approved a $250 million tax-rate-neutral bond. The school’s major upgrade required a near-total gutting of the 38-year-old building, and included the addition of six new classrooms, collaboration spaces wired for high-tech demands of the 21st century, an expanded kitchen and cafeteria and spacious hallways and commons areas. As-new upgrades at the school include an improved entryway with a security vestibule to enhance safety, solar tubing to allow natural light into the building, science labs and an improved media center. The building is accented with bright geometric patterns and other amenities to benefit the community.
